Tech Bytes – Connection Troubleshooting

Slow or No Internet Connection Troubleshooting Tips

1. 
Unplug the power supply to the modem (Comtrend or Motorola)
2.
Unplug the power supply to your wireless router (Linksys, Netgear, Belkin, etc)
3.
Shut down your computer
4.
Wait 30 seconds to 1 minute
5.
Check ethernet and phone connections at computer, modem and or router
6
Plug in modem power supply only (Comtrend or Motorola)
7.
Wait for modem to power up, all 4 green lights on Comtrend and 4 green 1 amber on Motorola  should be lit
8.
Plug in wireless router power supply 
9.
Wait for all the router lights to come back on
10.
Re-Start your computer
